Conference season is here! While professional teaching conferences take place throughout the year, it seems that February through May see a large number of conferences here in Michigan. From content area conferences to technology conferences and EdCamps, it seems no week will go by in the next few months without some opportunity for educators in Michigan and around the Midwest to connect. Large tent pole events, smaller conversation driven conferences, and gatherings of small groups in coffee shops and pubs all play a role in our professional development. Mark Smith and Steve Denniston lead us through a conversation about the value of professional conferences for educators, how to get the most out of them, and how we can best learn from one another in a variety of settings.
