Innovation…in some districts it’s a word that inspires creativity and passion, in others it seems more like a buzz word that’s out of reach. What exactly does innovation mean for education? Our schools are institutions that many parents, students, and teachers want to see change, but perhaps not as radically as to make them indistinguishable from year to year. Many schools in Michigan are looking to make sustainable change, and innovation that helps drive better learning, not just change for the sake of making change.

Jeremie Coplin, an Instructional Technologist with the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency, helped guide us through the conversation about what innovation means for education, and how to manage change in our classrooms in effective ways.
