Despite the rise of Youtube, Soundcloud, and on demand broadcasting tools like Periscope, writing still prevails as one of the most influential forms of communication. The written word is easily translated, transportable across mediums, and is highly accessible by many. Writing in the digital age affords new realities for how we communicate with words. With support found woven among the Common Core State Literacy Standards and the really that the digital word is now the dominant form of written communication, we took the opportunity to chat about how to encourage digital writing within the K-12 classroom.
