This week we dug into the New Year with a re-commitment to being honest about a number of things. Honesty about our attempts to establish good eating habits, honesty about the use of our gym memberships (or lack thereof). More seriously, we felt it was time to be honest about the teacher evaluation system, and how it can be utilized to encourage effective growth, or hinder it.
We were fortunate enough to team up with the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals and Associate Director Steven Seward, to lead us through a chat about how we can all move forward with the current teacher evaluation process. We found ourselves exploring what kind of feedback is more helpful than others, and gave honest feedback to lawmakers on how to continue to improve the evaluation tools and process.
